DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Madrona Marsh Nature Center for the 2nd annual Madrona Marsh Science Expo! The 2026 cohort of student science researchers will present their work on various aspects of the ecological health of the Madrona Marsh and other open space areas in Torrance.&nbsp; Students come to us from a variety of schools, including South High, West High, El Camino College, and UC Riverside, among others.&nbsp; Projects focus on a wide range of environmental science topics, including the effects of heavy metals on plants and water invertebrates, the bacterial communities found on lichen and in the marsh's water, the effects of fire on seed germination, and more.&nbsp; Students will be available to take questions from the public after their presentations.&nbsp; This event is free and no RSVP is required.&nbsp; Please join us in supporting and celebrating the next generation of environmental scientists as they proudly share their work.
